How to Wash Your Modern Cloth Nappies

Step 1: Remove solids

Dispose of poo into the toilet. This step is optional if your baby has yet to start solids.

Then store the used cloth nappy in a dry pail for up to 24 hours

Step 2: Pre-wash

Pre-wash your nappies on a 30-60 minutes cycle on 40-60 degrees with detergent. This removes the majority of soiling. You nappies can then be placed back into a dry pail for a further 48-72 hours until they need to be main washed.

Step 3: Main-wash cycle

Run a long (2-3 hour) cotton cycle 40-60 degrees with detergent.

Step 4: Hang to dry

Air dry nappies or use a clothes/tumble dryer on low heat

How are Mimi & Co wipeable covers different from other nappy covers?

Our wipeable covers are made from heat-processed TPU (not chemically-treated PUL like most brands), making them softer and stretchier.

The double gusset design with a soft second gusset is a total game-changer for leak protection, especially overnight. Most importantly? You can wipe them clean and reuse them through multiple nappy changes because they don't absorb moisture or hold smells.

How long can I reuse a wipeable cover before washing?

You can reuse the same cover through multiple nappy changes until it gets actually soiled (we're talking poo explosions here) or the elastics get wet.

Since the TPU fabric doesn't absorb moisture or hold onto smells, a quick wipe with a cloth or baby wipe is all you need between changes. Some parents get 2-3 uses out of one cover before throwing them in the prewash - pretty genius, right?

Will wipeable covers fit my baby as they grow?

Absolutely! Our Newborn design works from 2kg to 8kg.

Bought a few of these to dip my toes into cloth with my first baby - have only had one leak (and that was definitely user error!) so far, and even had 2 huge poos today and not a single mess outside the nappy! Beautiful product, great quality - first and only cloth brand I’ll need! Russo & Pa are my favourite prints they’re just in the wash for this pic!

Love the newborn covers. They are soft. I like they have snaps unlike most other places that have hook and loop for newborn covers. They fit well over fitted nappies, inserts and prefolds.

Love the wipeable newborn covers. The fit is perfect on a 2.5kg bub. Have used with fitted nappies, prefolds and inserts and works perfectly for all. Is nice and soft.

A bit disappointed

It says on the website up to 19 kg and also up to 8kg my Bub was 6 kg and they were too small. She’s is a small Bub too so it should let be a body shape issue.
I’ll keep these for our next Bub. I’ve had to buy more nappies from a different shop that I know will fit her now. I do love that I can wipe away any pee and reuse again.

I did notice you mentioned 19kg sizing. Our Newborn Wipeable Cover fits up to 8kg (or 10kg for long babies like mine), while our One-Size Wipeable Cover is the one that goes up to ~ 18 - 20kg.

These are two different products, so we want to make sure you received the right one!

These have been great paired with the newborn fitteds, it looks like they will last longer size-wise than the fitteds as bub has more snaps to go out in these than the fitteds (unsure if the fitteds just shrank in the dryer as these don’t go through the dryer). So handy that the shells can be reused if not soiled and just change out the fitted layer, meaning less washing overall

Best brand yet!

We’ve been using cloth nappies for five years now (on three consecutive children) and have tried many brands throughout this time. We just had our third baby 3 months ago and found that our usual brand weren’t a good fit for him as he is longgggg and skinny. After coming across Aami on TikTok I decided to give the brand a go. First we bought a newborn preflat and cover which we loved, but I wanted to try the 2.0 style as well. After ordering the half price trial nappy I fell in love! It for him so snugly and we didn’t get any leaks! I began looking forward to using it every time it came around in our large stash and over the Afterpay day sale I purchased 9 2.0s and 1 mighty minky (along with two second hand mighty minkies off Facebook). They’ve arrived three days ago and have officially replaced over half of his nappies! I am absolutely delighted with the quality and fit and have not had any leaks at all.

The BEST newborn nappies!

These are without a doubt the best newborn modern cloth nappies I have ever used. They are the easiest ones to get a proper fit and they can be fitted for a lot longer than many other types. It’s so easy to get a perfect fit and so easy to use with a range of inserts or even as a cover for pre flats or disposables. I loved these so much I had to buy the same prints is OSFM!

Great wipes

Great wipes. They do the job. Not too big or cumbersome, and I can still get a few swipes out of one cloth. Perfect size! I can fit 8 or 9 in the 900ml silicone container.

Brilliant

I was so impressed with these pants! My daughter is 3.5 years old hated the potty so I was unsure about jumping straight into pants. One month on… Jasmine is now comfortably using the toilet. No accidents at bedtime. And more comfortable with number 2’s.
My daughter is very picky, cautious and needs to feel in control and safe.

Easy wipes

Easier than you think to convert to cloth wipes from disposable! These do such a much better job of cleaning up number 2’s than the disposables and they really are just so easy to incorporate into your routine.

Mimi’s 2.0’s are the best! By far the best fitting nappy from a skinny newborn to chunky baby and then toddler years. The more slender wing design means they fit so much better than other brands. My only regret was not purchasing them sooner!
