Care & Washing Instructions – Mimi® Reusable Menstrual Pads

Caring for your Mimi® Reusable Menstrual Pads is simple and if you already wash cloth nappies, you can follow the exact same routine.

If You Already Wash Cloth Nappies

pre-wash and main wash cycles as normal.
low heat in the tumble dryer or air dry on a clothes horse or line.

If You Don’t Wash Cloth Nappies

Rinse your pad in cold water until the water runs clear. Many people find it easiest to do this straight after changing or in the shower at the end of the day.
Place used pads in a wet bag, bucket, or laundry basket until you’re ready to wash.
Add your pads to a regular laundry load. Wash on a warm cycle (30–40°C) for everyday cleaning, or up to 60°C if needed.
Tumble dry on low heat or air dry in the shade.

Extra Tips for Long-Lasting Pads

Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, they can damage the bamboo fibres and reduce absorbency.

How do I choose the right mimi pad size for my menstrual flow?

Picking the right pad is easy!

✓ Choose regular flow pads for your normal period days.
✓ Pick heavy flow pads for your heaviest days or overnight.

You can mix different sizes during your period as your flow changes.

Are mimi menstrual pads safe for sensitive skin and everyday use?

Yes! Mimi pads are made for sensitive skin. They have no perfume and no harsh chemicals that can hurt your skin.

Our pads let air through so you stay dry and comfortable. We test all our pads to make sure they're gentle.

How long can I wear a mimi menstrual pad before changing it?

Change your mimi pad every 3-4 hours on normal flow days. On heavy days, change it more often.

On light days or at night, you can wear a pad for 6-8 hours. Always change your pad if it feels full or uncomfortable. Regular changing keeps you fresh and healthy.

Can mimi menstrual pads be used overnight for heavy periods?

Love these light pads for days I need a little security. So slim and comfy - can't even feel they're there.

I would definitely recommend the Mimi and Co reusable pads to anyone wanting to try reusable period products. These pads are beautifully made, the material is so soft and breathable. They feel no bulkier than other heavy flow period undies on the market. The absolute best feature of this product is the white coloured inner material! It is so important to monitor your body, especially if you’re using these postpartum! I am yet to find another brand on the market that has a light coloured lining.

The pads have arrived!! They are really soft and cute. I tried them on just to see how it feels, it feels a little awkward because the wings length (front to back) are too long but i think I'll get used to it. Feels a lil bulky but not worse and doesn't make plastic sound. Now I'm looking forward to my period to actually wear them.

*the L/maternity size can't or very hard to be folded and clipped like the others. I guess I'll just have to toss it in the bucker right after use at home, no going out with it.

It’s such a pleasure putting this nappy on my baby at night, it’s so soft it’s like putting on a cloud! Even with all the layers it just seems so comfy and not a single leak even though little miss is a bit unwell and nursed all through the night! Currently 4.5 months and 6kg and we were able to get a perfect fit without much mucking around. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to buy some more…

So amazing. Even better than I thought they would be! And the x large is roomy on my trim 5 year old. And I had to wash one and it was so quick and easy and Lanolised with the Disana products.
