Care & Washing Instructions

Caring for your Mimi® Reusable Menstrual Underwear is simple, and if you already use cloth nappies, you can wash them exactly the same way.

If you don’t use cloth nappies:

Remove most of the blood or urine by rinsing in cold water. Many people find it easy to do this in the shower at the end of the day.
Pop them in a wet bag or laundry basket until you’re ready to wash.

Washing:

Wash on a warm cycle (30–40°C) for everyday cleaning. You can also wash at 60°C without any problems.
Use your regular laundry detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners as they can damage the fibres and reduce absorbency.
You can wash them with your regular laundry — no need for a separate load.

Drying:

Low heat is safe.
Lay flat or hang in the shade for best longevity.

Tip: Proper care will keep your underwear fresh, absorbent, and long-lasting, so you can rely on them cycle after cycle.

Mimi® Reusable Menstrual Underwear is designed to replace or back up disposable period products.

Our underwear has a soft cotton jersey outer for a comfortable, body-hugging fit, and an absorbent bamboo terry core with a TPU leak-proof layer. Inside, the full front-to-back athletic wicking jersey lining draws moisture away from your skin so you feel dry and confident.

You can wear them alone or alongside our menstrual discs or reusable menstrual pads for extra protection.

How do I choose between Regular and Heavy absorbency?

Our Regular absorbency underwear has protection in the gusset and is perfect for light to medium flow days.

Our Heavy absorbency style has absorbent layers from the front to the back, holding more liquid for heavy flow days, overnight wear, or postpartum bleeding.

For heavier days, you might also consider our menstrual discs for internal protection, or shop our menstrual care bundles to mix and match your flow products.

Can I wear menstrual underwear overnight?

Yes! Our Heavy absorbency menstrual underwear is ideal for overnight wear, with full front-to-back coverage and leak-proof TPU protection.

For extremely heavy nights, you can pair them with a reusable menstrual pad for double security.

How many pairs do I need for a full cycle?

I love the fit of Mimi’s compared to other brands, especially on my newborn! Even as she’s grown they fit so much easier and nicer than other brands!

Great quality nappy

Love my trial nappy, ended up buying more. They feel high quality and the fabric is soft and flexible. Love the athletic wicking jersey, double gusset and poonami protectors. The inserts wash really well and maintain their shape. Lots of room for baby to grow. The elastic at the top of the front means that even with the bulk of the insert at the front for a boy, the shell sits flush against his skin.

Best wipe you’ll find.

I love these wipes, they are amazing at picking any mess and feel so soft on the skin. They have the added bonus of being made from natural fibre unlike many others on the market. Only drawbacks are they can stain slightly when not washed straight away.

Amazing product.

I live this product! I found the instruction on the bottom of the tin super easy to find and follow. I was a bit confused by the differing recommendations of how much lanolin to use when rejuvenating my wool nappy covers, but the instructions on the tin worked very well.
