Care & Washing Instructions – Mimi® Reusable Menstrual Pads

Caring for your Mimi® Reusable Menstrual Pads is simple and if you already wash cloth nappies, you can follow the exact same routine.

If You Already Wash Cloth Nappies

pre-wash and main wash cycles as normal.
low heat in the tumble dryer or air dry on a clothes horse or line.

If You Don’t Wash Cloth Nappies

Rinse your pad in cold water until the water runs clear. Many people find it easiest to do this straight after changing or in the shower at the end of the day.
Place used pads in a wet bag or laundry basket until you’re ready to wash.
Add your pads to a regular laundry load. Wash on a warm cycle (40°C) for everyday cleaning, or up to 60°C if needed.
Tumble dry on low heat or air dry in the shade.

Extra Tips for Long-Lasting Pads

Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, they can damage the bamboo fibres and reduce absorbency.

I love these. The sizes allow for both overnight use or any day of the period use. I love that the material is white so I can see what is happening. So easy to clip on and stay in place.

Beautiful reusable pads

I would definitely recommend the Mimi and Co reusable pads to anyone wanting to try reusable period products. These pads are beautifully made, the material is so soft and breathable. They feel no bulkier than other heavy flow period undies on the market. The absolute best feature of this product is the white coloured inner material! It is so important to monitor your body, especially if you’re using these postpartum! I am yet to find another brand on the market that has a light coloured lining.

The pads have arrived!! They are really soft and cute. I tried them on just to see how it feels, it feels a little awkward because the wings length (front to back) are too long but i think I'll get used to it. Feels a lil bulky but not worse and doesn't make plastic sound. Now I'm looking forward to my period to actually wear them.

*the L/maternity size can't or very hard to be folded and clipped like the others. I guess I'll just have to toss it in the bucker right after use at home, no going out with it.

New training pants

I love the feel of the pants and the thinness/thickness of them is perfect. Seemed to hold a big wee (slight wetness on the leg bands) but we aren’t at toilet training stage just yet so would be perfect for those little wee accidents (or number 2s). I don’t particularly like the fully removable side panels, they sort of sit funny and maybe wish I’d gone the bigger size. They are definitely super soft and undies like and I think they’ll be great once we are right in the middle of toilet training.

Why I love Mimi and co over other brands.

We have the 2.0 originals with the hemp and cotton inserts. We started using them full time when our son was about 3 months. They did fit him when he was smaller, but the nappy folded so big, it felt wrong on his little body.

We have minimal spillage, the flap at the back has caught many poo explosions!!

I like that you can use inside to either have the insert on top of or under.

I started with just 7 Mimi and co nappies, as I was a little nervous to spend big before I was ready to commit to the reusable process. I also bought some econaps, as I got a good sale price. Well, It’s been a world of difference. To compare they don’t have a catch at the back, and poo often goes up his back. The econap inserts also have all crinkles and gone really hard, and my baby gets nasty line marks on his skin from the inserts. I’ve shown some pictures to compare. Econaps on the right, Mimi and co inserts on the left.

So now I’m selling my econaps and have just invested in more Mimi and co originals. I now have 25 originals and that’s enough for me. I do washing every morning. At nighttime we still use disposables as that works for us.

I also have the tri-fold boosters. They are super absorbent and easy to mix in with my other inserts.

The reusable wipes, are almost too luxe to use as butt wipes. I have 15 of them, and find I use them around the house to clean up vomit and other spills and sometimes as extra nappy inserts, as they are super absorbent! I ended up buying a simple bamboo face washer to use for nappy wipes, as I found I needed about 40 in rotation.

Hope that helps someone feel good about buying Mimi and Co- the long lasting quality is what you’re buying.

Best period product!

This is the comfiest, easiest and most discrete period care product I've ever used. I have reacted badly to so many commercial products that this has honestly improved my mental health more than I was prepared for. Here are to many more periods without the 'pad/ tampon itch'!

Cute and fits nicely

Fits very nicely, giving me piece of mind knowing we won't have a blow out.
The prints are beautiful and the lining on the inside of the shell is the best for hotter months. For a bub with heat sensitivities it's been a blessing for his skin.

It’s such a pleasure putting this nappy on my baby at night, it’s so soft it’s like putting on a cloud! Even with all the layers it just seems so comfy and not a single leak even though little miss is a bit unwell and nursed all through the night! Currently 4.5 months and 6kg and we were able to get a perfect fit without much mucking around. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to buy some more…
